NIO (NIO) stock closed at $3.21 on Oct. 30, down $0.11 or 3.31% on the day. The stock traded between $3.16 and $3.27 on volume of 34.9 million, above its average of 32.1 million. It sits at the bottom of its 52-week range of $3.16 to $7.54.
The move came ahead of NIO’s October delivery report. The company delivered 34,246 vehicles across its NIO, ONVO and FIREFLY brands. That brings 2026 year-to-date deliveries to 334,547, up 38.5% from a year ago.
Cumulative deliveries now stand at 1,332,139. That is a nice milestone for a company that has had its share of rough patches. The stock, however, is down about 57% over the past year.
The NIO All-New ES8 passed 160,000 deliveries. It ranked first in China’s large SUV and RMB400,000-level segments for January through October. NIO said competition in the market is shifting from specifications to brand power.

Market cap sits at about $7.57 billion. Gross margin is 17.43%, according to Motley Fool data. Those numbers give some context to the stock’s slide.
September numbers show a split
The October figures follow a mixed September. NIO delivered 37,408 vehicles that month, up 7.7% from a year earlier. The headline number hid a gap between brands.
The namesake premium brand grew deliveries 55.3% in September. It added 7,590 vehicles from a year earlier. ONVO went the other way and lost 6,483.
ONVO had a strong start to 2026. Second-quarter deliveries rose about 71% to 29,124 vehicles. The brand hit a May high of 12,029.
Since then, ONVO has recorded four straight monthly declines. September deliveries fell to 8,763. The year-over-year comparison was tough because the L90 began deliveries in August 2025.
Across the full third quarter, NIO’s deliveries rose 25.4% from the prior year. September’s 7.7% growth was slower than that pace. One weak month, as the Motley Fool piece put it, does not define the business.
What management is doing about ONVO
CEO William Li addressed ONVO on the second-quarter earnings call on Sept. 1. He said the brand faces more intense competition than NIO’s other two businesses. He also named limited brand awareness as a challenge.
Li compared ONVO’s recognition today with NIO’s five or six years ago. The plan includes more marketing, community events and store expansion. That push includes customers in lower-tier cities.
Execution is the open question. Investors will be watching whether wider reach turns into steady orders. The October data gives them the latest read.
NIO’s Hong Kong-listed Class A shares (9866) were down 0.24% in the most recent update. The October delivery report was published on Nov. 1.
