A headline claiming that 1.8 billion XRP moved across the XRP Ledger within 24 hours has revived discussion of a network recovery. The figure hasn’t been independently verified for a dated 24-hour period, so treat it as a reported claim, not confirmed evidence of a new trend.

The XRP Ledger handles payments, decentralized exchange transactions and tokenized assets. Payment volumes reflects the network activity, but the number needs context. Large transfers can be exchange custody movements, internal treasury operations or transfers between wallets controlled by the same entity.
None of that necessarily signals fresh investor demand or new capital entering the market.
Recent verified reporting shows why the distinction matters. One October snapshot had daily payment volume jumping to about 137.7 million XRP, still below its 30-day average of roughly 496 million.
Another October reading, around 363.3 million XRP, came with the same caution: a one-day rise did not establish a sustained recovery.
