Amanah Advisors granted the certification after reviewing the structure behind XAUt and its physical gold reserves. The assessment confirmed compliance with established Islamic finance principles for asset-backed financial products. Therefore, the approval allows broader use of XAUt within Shariah-compliant financial services.
Each XAUt token represents ownership of physical gold stored in secure Swiss vaults. Moreover, the structure avoids interest, leverage and speculative derivative exposure. The certification also confirmed transparent reserve management and direct ownership of the underlying physical asset.
Tether stated that the approval creates opportunities across several Islamic financial applications. These include digital gold products, halal savings solutions, tokenized trade finance, and collateral services. As a result, financial institutions can integrate XAUt into compliant digital asset offerings without changing core Islamic finance principles.
Physical Gold Structure Supports Digital Expansion

According to Tether’s latest reserve report, XAUt was backed by more than 707,000 troy ounces of physical gold. Those holdings carried a reported value exceeding $3.3 billion as of March 31.
