Solana has completed 1,000 consecutive days without a network-wide halt, reaching the milestone on November 2, 2026. The blockchain last stopped producing blocks on February 6, 2024, following a software failure.
The network’s status page recorded 100% uptime over the previous 90 days. That measure covers the main validator cluster, rather than individual computers, which can still experience separate failures.
Solana Trading Activity Rises
Average monthly trading volume on Solana’s decentralized exchanges has doubled since February 2024. The total number of processed transactions has also doubled during the same period, according to network activity figures.
Active traders have increased sixfold from levels recorded before the last outage. These figures show rising usage during the uninterrupted period, although they do not measure the reliability of individual applications.
Separately, SOL price analysis published October 29 reported the token trading near $100 after a decline from above $120 earlier that month. Network uptime and token prices track different measures.
Software Changes Follow Previous Outage
The 2024 stoppage lasted nearly five hours. A bug caused validators to repeat a software compilation process without finishing, preventing the network from reaching agreement on new blocks.
Developers have since introduced traffic controls and priority fees. These measures help validators manage busy periods and allow users to pay extra when competing for transaction processing.
Jump Crypto’s Firedancer offers an independent validator client alongside existing software. An October 27 Firedancer security update introduced a one-SOL burn requirement for researchers seeking rewards for new bug reports. Jump said its client secured around 15% of stake on October 16.
Reliability Tested by Infrastructure Failure
An August 12 routing failure disrupted infrastructure serving about 29% of Solana’s staked tokens. Block production continued, and the affected provider recovered in just over 30 minutes.
Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technology reported vote success near 99.7% in 2026. Its October study also identified concentration risks involving validator stake, hosting providers and locations.
Meanwhile, weekly spot SOL ETF outflows reached $71.47 million, while SOL traded near $95 on November 2. The figures reflected market conditions, separate from the network’s continued operation. Solana’s target slot time fell from 400 to 200 milliseconds through four upgrades completed on October 9.
