Roblox (RBLX) jumped 6% on September 14 after management used its annual developer conference, RDC 2026, to lay out a broad growth plan. The stock was trading around $45.50 before the move, pushing toward Bank of America’s newly raised price target of $48.
The headline news from the conference was platform expansion. Creators will soon be able to offer games built on Roblox as standalone apps across mobile, PC, and consoles. Players will also get the option to access games directly through a web browser, removing a barrier to casual play.
Roblox also announced expanded offline play and AI-assisted game creation through its Build tool, giving developers more ways to build and ship content on the platform.
Targeting Older Players
A big theme at RDC 2026 was pulling in adult gamers. Roblox has long been associated with younger players, and the company is now pushing tools designed to support more complex game types that appeal to older audiences.
New payment products are part of that push. A Roblox digital wallet and Roblox card are being introduced to give creators more flexibility in how they manage earnings from their games.
Bank of America analyst Omar Dessouky, a top five-star rated analyst, said the broader range of game formats could help Roblox tap into parts of the roughly $100 billion mobile gaming market that are currently underrepresented on the platform.
BofA raised its price target on RBLX to $48 from $44, lifting its target multiple to 20 times enterprise value to calendar year 2027 EBITDA. The firm kept its Neutral rating.
Platform Momentum and Analyst Views
BofA pointed to the rise of “Steal an Egg” as early evidence that Roblox’s content discovery algorithm may be getting sharper at surfacing viral hits. The firm said launch velocity remains elevated based on its tracking.
Roblox’s revenue growth of 41% over the last twelve months puts some numbers behind the platform’s momentum.
Average peak concurrent users hit 17.1 million in a recent week, up 6% from the week before, according to RoMonitor data cited in a Citi note. That data point has led some to think Roblox could beat its third-quarter bookings guidance.
Not every analyst is bullish. Oppenheimer cut its price target to $50 from $82, citing revised revenue and EBITDA estimates, though it kept an Outperform rating. Jefferies holds a $38 price target and a Hold rating, flagging user headwinds and algorithm changes as concerns.
BofA did note that competition from GTA 6 remains a watch item for the platform.
