The Robinhood Ventures Fund II (RVII) Roadshow will kick off August 3 at 12:00 PM ET on the Robinhood app and via the company’s YouTube channel. The move comes as part of its overall efforts to provide investors with access to companies at an earlier point in their growth, according to Robinhood.
Join Robinhood’s presentation in a way that isn’t traditional for IPOs, which is mostly for institutional investors. It is believed to feature top officials within the company talking about the new investment strategy, portfolio plan and vision for the new venture fund.

Expanding Access to Private Markets
Public markets were the last to be the first to evaluate many of today’s biggest technology firms, who were first to be assessed years ago in the private sector. Robinhood claims RVII is meant to fill in that void, providing exposure to investors who qualify to participate before a standard IPO.
The strategy aligns with the trend of greater need for private-market investments, as go-go tech companies tend to monopolize the private markets and are raising significant funds via institutional markets.
Stretching from its stock trading roots to cryptocurrencies, prediction markets, wealth management services and private investing, Robinhood has been steadily diversifying. The new fund marks another expansion of the platform’s investment line, which currently includes only stocks and bonds.
Registration Process Still Underway
Robinhood emphasized that RVII has filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), but the filing has not yet become effective.
As a result, the company is prohibited from redeeming shares of the fund, or taking in investments, to date. Future offers will only be made via the official prospectus, which explains the goals of the fund, expenses, risks and how the fund operates.

Retail Investors Receive Early Access to Information
The fund is still in the registration period, which means that potential investors can now have first-hand information of RVII prior to the offering.
The potential investors also have to think carefully about the prospectus after it comes into effect, since investing in the private market entails different risks such as illiquidity, valuation uncertainties and long time horizons, Robinhood said.
