Kimberly-Clark Corporation (KMB) stock slid about 3% on Wednesday following news of major leadership changes connected to its upcoming Kenvue (KVUE) acquisition. Kenvue stock also dropped, down roughly 2% in the same session.

The moves come as Kimberly-Clark works to finalize its purchase of Kenvue, the consumer health company. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
President and Chief Operating Officer Russell Torres told the company on September 29 that he’s leaving. His last day is November 2, 2026, and he’s departing to take a CEO job elsewhere.
Torres joined Kimberly-Clark back in 2020. He also led the Integration Management Office handling the Kenvue deal.
What Changes at the Top
With Torres gone, two other executives are stepping into bigger roles. Jeff Melucci, the company’s Chief Strategy, Business Development and Administrative Officer, will now oversee integration plans and programs.
Chief Financial Officer Nelson Urdaneta will take charge of synergy delivery plans. That means tracking the cost savings and efficiencies the merger is supposed to produce.
Kimberly-Clark also laid out who will run the combined company’s regions once the deal closes. The changes mostly bring in leaders from Kenvue’s side.
New Regional Leadership
Carlos De Jesus, currently Kenvue’s Group President for North America, will lead the combined company’s North America segment. John Carmichael, who holds that role at Kimberly-Clark now, will leave shortly after the deal closes.
De Jesus was already set to become Chief Growth Officer under earlier transition plans. He’ll keep running the Global Growth Organization while this handover happens.
Leonardo Curado, Kenvue’s Group President for Latin America, moves into the EMEA segment starting January 1, 2027. He was previously named as the future general manager for Latin America at the combined firm.
Carlton Lawson, who currently leads EMEA at Kenvue, will step down at year-end. Anindya Dasgupta, set to become President of Enterprise Growth Markets, will take over direct oversight of Latin America.
Wall Street still rates KMB a Buy overall, with a price target of $120. That target sits well above where shares are currently trading after the drop.
Kimberly-Clark’s average trading volume sits around 3.88 million shares. Current technical signals point to a Sell rating, even as the longer term analyst view stays positive.
The stock carries a market cap of roughly $32.92 billion as of this week. Kimberly-Clark makes tissue, paper, and personal care products, and competes in categories where steady leadership matters for day to day operations.
The Torres exit is the most immediate change investors are reacting to. The rest of the leadership moves won’t take effect until the Kenvue deal actually closes later this year.
