$LAPTOP Sets a 1 Billion Token Supply
Hunter Biden unveiled the ticker on X and included a video that spoke of his laptop hitting the news. The token will be on offer on Sept. 9 on Base, the Ethereum L2 product of Coinbase.

Details reported in The Wall Street Journal say $LAPTOP will be releasing 1 billion tokens. Founders, including Biden, will be expected to have 30 % of the supply under their control.
Those tokens will become locked for six months, with vesting to occur over a period that will last approximately two years, which would reduce the playability pressure of the original team.
Two airdrops have been planned, with a further 20% designated for them. Among those included will be wallets that lost money on Trump’s TRUMP memecoin and subscriptions to Biden’s Substack, as well as the mailing list of video journalist Andrew Callaghan.

The project also brings in a very novel supply model. The planned airdrop is a direct response to one suffering from political crypto speculation. Following its January 2025 launch, TRUMP’s market capitalisation has climbed to near $15 billion, only to tank later, leaving its value at a recent estimate of around $600M.
