TLDR
- ETH traded near $2,500 on October 11 after a volatile week that sent Bitcoin toward $81,000.
- Fundstrat’s Tom Lee forecasts ETH will pass $5,000 before the end of 2026.
- Analyst Ali Charts sees a path to $2,640 if ETH closes above $2,520.
- U.S. spot Ether ETFs saw $201.9 million in outflows on October 6.
- More than one-third of all ETH is now staked.
Ethereum held above the $2,500 support level on October 11. Bitcoin stayed above $83,000, and XRP traded near $1.40.

ETH had traded above $2,700 earlier in October. Selling pressure then pushed it below $2,600 and down to $2,405 before buyers stepped in.
Fundstrat’s Tom Lee, who also chairs BitMine, said in a Coinage interview that Ethereum could pass $5,000 before year end. That would require a gain of about 99.3% in less than three months.

Social media account That Martini Guy (@MartiniGuyYT) shared Lee’s call on October 11. The post asked whether ETH can deliver before the year closes and called $5,000 a major milestone.
CoinMarketCap lists Ethereum’s all-time high near $4,954, set in August 2025. Lee’s target would put ETH above that mark.
Lee’s Outlook and Possible Drivers
Lee pointed to Ethereum’s long trading range as a base for a breakout. He also tied ETH to Bitcoin, projecting about $7,500 for ETH if Bitcoin reaches $100,000.
Several factors could support demand. Renewed ETF inflows and corporate purchases could add institutional buying, and the Glamsterdam upgrade is planned for Q4 2026.
More than one-third of ETH is committed to staking, which can reduce the supply available to trade. Higher network activity could also increase ETH burning, and the CLARITY Act could bring clearer U.S. rules if it passes.
Technical Levels and ETF Flows
Analyst Ali Charts said Ethereum appears to be forming an Adam and Eve bottoming pattern on the 10-minute chart. He named $2,520 as the neckline and said a sustained close above it could open a move toward $2,640.
That target sits $120 above the neckline, a gain of about 4.8%. The setup is not confirmed until ETH holds above that level.
$ETH has moved very close to a key resistance level.

Market commentator Petar Jovanović identified $2,550 to $2,600 as the key resistance zone. Reclaiming it could open the way to $2,650 to $2,700.
Momentum readings are mixed. The MACD histogram reportedly turned positive, but weakening bars suggest buying strength may be fading.
U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded about $201.9 million in withdrawals on October 6. Bitcoin ETFs took in $118.8 million that same session.

About $165 million in leveraged ETH long positions were liquidated during the recent drop. Staking and lower exchange balances do not automatically lift prices.
This week’s calendar includes ADP employment data, consumer and producer inflation, jobless claims, and Federal Reserve remarks. ETH was trading near $2,741 at the latest reading in the data.
