TLDR

  • Google unveiled the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold on Wednesday
  • All models received a $100 price increase, starting at $899 for the base Pixel 11
  • The new Tensor G6 chip runs Gemini Nano AI on-device for personal tasks without cloud dependency
  • Google Pixel Watch 5 was also revealed, now capable of tracking blood pressure and insulin resistance
  • Google holds just 3% of the US smartphone market, compared to Apple’s 58% and Samsung’s 26%

Google launched its Pixel 11 smartphone family on Wednesday. The lineup includes the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

GOOGLE JUST RAISED PIXEL PRICES ACROSS THE BOARD, CITING A “SEVERE” MEMORY CRUNCH

Every model comes with a $100 price increase over its predecessor. The base Pixel 11 starts at $899, up from $799.

The Pro models are priced as follows: the Pixel 11 Pro at $1,099, the Pixel 11 Pro XL at $1,299, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold at $1,899.

Google says the price hike is partly due to rising memory costs driven by increased AI-related demand across the industry. However, buyers are also getting more storage, with the base model doubling from 128GB to 256GB.

All four phones run on Google’s new Tensor G6 processor. The base Pixel 11 comes with 12GB of RAM, while Pro models offer 12GB or 16GB options and storage up to 1TB.

What the New AI Features Actually Do

The Pixel 11 runs Google’s Gemini Nano AI model directly on the device. That means it can handle personal tasks without sending data to the cloud.

All Pixel 11 models are covered by seven years of Android and security updates. Pro buyers also get six months of Google AI Pro included.

The Pixel 11 base model offers up to 30 hours of battery life. Wireless charging is 25% faster than the previous generation, and the camera includes 30x Super Zoom.

Pixel Watch 5 and Market Context

Google also unveiled the Pixel Watch 5. The 41mm version starts at $399, up from $349, while the 45mm model costs $429.

The watch can now track blood pressure, insulin trends, and breathing. Google notes these features are advisory tools, not diagnostic ones.

Apple is expected to reveal its iPhone 18 lineup and a rumored first foldable iPhone next month. Samsung has already raised prices on its Android phones this year.

Google held just 3% of the US smartphone market in Q1 2026. Apple held 58% and Samsung held 26%, according to Counterpoint Research.
