The move adds institutional lending to the ways USDe-related capital can generate returns, expanding beyond crypto-native strategies.
$1 Billion Facility Targets Institutional Borrowers
The lending arrangement operates through a special purpose vehicle (SPV), allowing capital from assets backing USDe to be deployed into overcollateralized institutional loans.
FalconX will be the originator, the servicer and collateral manager for the loans. The securities will be held with qualified lenders in a structure that will safeguard the funds used to support the lending activity.
The facility is suitable for financing a number of finance use cases such as trading strategies, corporate treasury management and payment-related functions.
The amount of capital initially deployed, borrowers, loan terms or expected returns were not mentioned by either party. To account for the facility size, not that the $1 billion amount has been pumped into outstanding loans.
