We made FLOW available for trading and staking to the majority of our clients around the globe earlier this year. We’re delighted to announce that we’re now rolling these functions out for U.S. and Canadian residents on Tuesday, October 19!
What Is FLOW?
FLOW is the token for Flow, a blockchain pioneered by Dapper Labs — the company behind the legendary CryptoKitties. Such was the popularity of the blockchain-based game that it effectively brought Ethereum to a standstill as users rushed to interact with it.
Inspired by this experience, Dapper Labs launched Flow: a blockchain with an emphasis on high throughput and low latency for games, digital collectibles and NFTs. Already, partners like UFC, the NBA, Samsung and Ubisoft have begun to build on the platform.

Funding, staking and trading
Funding, staking and trading go live on Tuesday at 15:30 UTC.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Deposits require 30 confirmations (~60 seconds). You can add FLOW to your Kraken account by navigating to Funding, selecting the asset, and hitting Deposit.
- FLOW will be tradeable against USD, EUR, GBP, BTC and ETH
- There’s a trading minimum of 0.2 FLOW, and a price precision of 0.001 for GBP, USD and EUR, 0.00001 ETH and 0.0000001 BTC
- Staking is expected to yield an APY of ~4.6% and has a minimum stake/unstake of 0.2 FLOW
Which services will be available for FLOW?
Kraken, Kraken Pro and OTC will be available for FLOW. Kraken Futures and Margin Trading won’t be active at launch.
Will Kraken list more assets?
Yes! But our policy is to never reveal any details until shortly before launch – not even which assets we are considering. All of Kraken’s listed tokens are available on our website, and all future tokens will be announced on Kraken’s blog and social media profiles. Our client engagement specialists cannot answer any questions about which assets we may be listing in the future.
Trade and invest with caution
Limit orders are recommended when trading starts since the markets may be illiquid initially. Be extremely careful with market orders and orders that trigger market orders (e.g. stop loss). Listing an asset or token for trade is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or participate in the associated network. Do your own research and invest at your own risk.
