The partnership goes beyond branding. Ripple will support financial and technology education for Florida student-athletes and the wider campus community, covering both traditional finance and digital assets.
Terms of the deal were not officially disclosed by either party.
University of Florida Athletics Director Scott Stricklin said the deal fits the university’s approach to technology.
“Florida has a long history of embracing innovation and technology to enhance the experience of our fans and advance our programs,” Stricklin said. “Ripple has established itself as an innovative leader in financial technology, and we’re excited to welcome XRP to Gator Nation.”
Florida competes in the Southeastern Conference and supports 21 sports teams and more than 500 student-athletes. The school has won 49 national championships across 16 sports.
The football program won national championships in 1996, 2006, and 2008 and is one of the most followed programs in the SEC.
Ripple’s Growing Sports Presence
This is Ripple’s second major college sports deal in recent months.
In July 2026, Ripple became the official sports sponsor of the Kansas Jayhawks, with an XRP logo patch set to appear on team jerseys. That was reported as the first time a cryptocurrency would appear on the jerseys of a major collegiate sports program.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is a Kansas alum.
Ripple was founded in 2012 and provides blockchain-based financial services including payments, custody, and treasury management. XRP is the native cryptocurrency of the XRP Ledger, and Ripple also issues the RLUSD stablecoin.
Other crypto firms are moving into sports sponsorships too. Circle, the issuer of USDC, became the principal partner of Chelsea Football Club, with the USDC brand appearing on jerseys. Galaxy Digital became the official AI and crypto partner of Texas Tech Athletics in July 2026.
The Florida deal marks a continued push by crypto companies to reach large audiences through college and professional sports partnerships.
