TLDR

  • SharpLink Q2 revenue surged to $11.5M while net loss widened sharply to $394.3M.
  • SBET fell 5.83% to $6.05 after SharpLink reported a much wider quarterly loss.
  • SharpLink held 886,881 ETH by June before increasing its treasury to 888,938 ETH.
  • The company bought about 10,000 ETH after completing a $75 million offering.
  • SharpLink launched a $125M onchain yield fund with Galaxy after quarter end.

SharpLink Inc. posted a wider second-quarter loss as Ethereum market weakness outweighed a sharp rise in revenue. The company reported $11.5 million in revenue, compared with $0.7 million one year earlier. SBET traded at $6.05, down 5.83%, after a steep intraday decline from earlier levels.

SharpLink Q2 Revenue Jumps as Loss Expands

SharpLink recorded a $394.3 million net loss for the second quarter, up from $103.4 million last year. Non-cash unrealized losses and impairments drove most of the increase as Ethereum prices weakened during the quarter. The company booked a $321 million unrealized loss tied to ETH market conditions during the reporting period.

SharpLink also recorded a $76.1 million impairment charge linked to LsETH and weETH holdings. Those accounting charges reduced reported asset values but did not change the number of tokens held. Meanwhile, realized gains partly offset the losses, although they failed to prevent a much larger quarterly deficit.

Operating costs also increased as SharpLink expanded its Ethereum treasury and public-company infrastructure. SG&A expenses reached $9.1 million, compared with $2.4 million during the same quarter last year. Higher personnel, custody, insurance, legal, and accounting costs contributed to the year-over-year increase.

Ethereum Treasury Reaches Nearly 889,000 ETH

SharpLink held about 886,881 ETH by June 30 and increased that total after the quarter ended. By August 3, the company reported approximately 888,938 ETH across its treasury holdings. Crypto assets carried a $1.4 billion U.S. GAAP value at the end of June.

The company raised $75 million through a registered direct offering completed on June 23. SharpLink issued common shares and warrants at a combined purchase price of $7.49 per share and warrant. It used part of the proceeds to purchase about 10,000 ETH at an average price near $1,611.

SharpLink also continued its share repurchase program while expanding its Ethereum position. The company repurchased about 2.1 million shares during the quarter for approximately $10 million. Since August 2025, total repurchases reached 4.07 million shares at an aggregate cost near $41.7 million.

SharpLink Expands Ethereum Infrastructure and Yield Strategy

SharpLink also committed capital to independent groups focused on Ethereum development, institutional use, and privacy infrastructure. The company backed EthLabs, Ethereum Institutional, and EthSystems as part of its broader ecosystem strategy. Each group targets a separate part of Ethereum adoption, including protocol development, enterprise access, and regulated privacy tools.

Ethereum Institutional has built more than 500 institutional relationships across banks, asset managers, custodians and market infrastructure firms. The organization has also convened more than 150 senior executives representing about $250 trillion in combined assets. EthSystems focuses on privacy and compliance tools for regulated institutions using Ethereum at larger scale.

After quarter end, SharpLink launched the Galaxy SharpLink Onchain Yield Fund with $125 million in committed capital. SharpLink committed $100 million, while Galaxy committed the remaining $25 million and will manage the fund. Separately, Russell added SharpLink to the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 indexes during the June 2026 reconstitution.
